Il y a tr\u00e8s peu de tissus aussi facilement reconnaissables m\u00eame pour un oeil moins expert. La diff\u00e9rence de couleur entre le fil de cha\u00eene et le fil trame (fils verticaux et fils horizontaux) cr\u00e9e un effet particulier qui fait varier sa teinte \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re. En capturant le rayons de lumi\u00e8re, le tissu va restituer un multitude de reflets color\u00e9s qui vont varier selon l\u2019angle selon lequel on le regarde.<\/p>\n

Le tissu Solaro a \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier tissu technique cr\u00e9\u00e9 par l\u2019homme. Comme son nom le sugg\u00e8re, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u aux d\u00e9buts du XXeme si\u00e8cle pour pr\u00e9venir les coups de soleil et surtout les carcinomes (cancers de la peau), mais \u00e9galement pour inhiber les rayons UV, que l\u2019on pensait responsables \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque de causer des dysfonctionnements physiologiques et des d\u00e9sordres nerveux. Les soldats britanniques (dans les tropiques) utilisaient le c\u00f4t\u00e9 rouge du tissu pour doubler les casques et le c\u00f4t\u00e9 beige pour r\u00e9aliser les uniformes qui \u00e9taient en grade de les prot\u00e9ger des rayons du soleil.<\/p>\n

Il commen\u00e7a \u00e0 travailler sur le Solaro apr\u00e8s avoir effectu\u00e9 des exp\u00e9rimentations en spectroscopie. Ses exp\u00e9rimentations ont confirm\u00e9 la th\u00e9orie selon laquelle la pigmentation pourvoit une protection naturelle et efficace contre les rayons ultraviolets pr\u00e9sents dans la lumi\u00e8re du soleil, en particulier dans les r\u00e9gions tropicales.<\/p>\n
